Greeting Message

Using the Cobalt robot to greet visitors to your facility

The Cobalt robot can be used to provide automated concierge services, including producing a friendly prerecorded greeting message when it detects a person entering its space. This is particularly useful on robots stationed near an entrance to your facility, or in a situation where an audible message can provide information or potentially discourage an intruder.

How/when is the greeting produced?

The Greeting Message feature leverages the robot's pre-installed AI person detection system to determine when to send each message. When specific conditions are met, the robot will greet any person entering the robot's field of view from a specified direction.

The greeting is tied to the robot's operating mode, however, it can be configured for use at the same time as either patrols or static operation.

What will the robot say?

Anything you want! Prior to activating the feature, provide Cobalt with the phrase to be used for the greeting message. Feel free to create a unique greeting for your facility or use the example message shown here. This is the phrasing used at Cobalt headquarters in Fremont, CA:

"Hello, welcome to <your_company_name>. If you're an employee, have a nice day. If you're a visitor or vendor, please tap on my screen to begin."

Cobalt uses a deep learning-enhanced speech engine to turn your desired phrasing into natural-sounding speech. We can provide multiple options for male and female voices, allowing you to further personalize your robot's greeting message.
